“Until we know how to safely dispose of the radioactive materials generated by nuclear plants, stop using them so as not to cause further harm to future generations”.
Dr Sawada – physicist and a Hiroshima survivor.
“The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe”.
Albert Einstein
Radiation is still being generated from the stricken nuclear power station in Fukashima, Japan and Tepco, the company that owns the facility has finally admitted that a full meltdown has occurred.
TEPCO announced that the accident probably released more radioactive material into the environment than Chernobyl, making it the worst nuclear accident on record.
Greenpeace said significant amounts of radioactive material had been released into the sea. It might take up to a year to cool down the fuel rods, meaning that even more contamination of the air and sea will still take place.
It is quite understandable why countries like Italy and Germany have decided to abandon nuclear power and will focus their future needs on renewable energy.
As humanity, we all have to abandon nuclear energy. We owe it to our children’s children. It’s as simple as that.

When any radio active material is released into the atmosphere, it gets distributed globally and becomes part of all living and dead things. Every time there is a radio active leak or explosion, we all get poisoned, whether it´s down the road or on the other side of the world. The food we eat becomes part of us, the water we drink and the air we breathe. It concerns us all. It´s not a hug a bear kiss a tree thing, it´s a ‘you and I are impacted directly because of this’ situation.
I definitely agree with this statement. Until we can solve the problem of storing radioactive waste, we should not use the product.
